The appeal and attractive points of spinal cord and peripheral nerve surgery include the depth of diagnosis and variety of treatment options that take into account the achievement goals according to a patient's requirement. The Neurospinal Society of Japan continues to make efforts to facilitate education and experience in spinal cord and peripheral nerve surgery for Japanese neurosurgeons. Our society believes that as more neurosurgeons in Japan develop concern and interest in this field, their social and international roles will expand further.
