Efficient green perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) were fabricated using mix-interlayer ligands to optimize phase composition and suppress recombination. This approach significantly enhances device performance, paving the way for high-efficiency PeLEDs.
Area of Science:
- Materials Science
- Optoelectronics
- Nanotechnology
Background:
- Quasi-two-dimensional (Q-2D) perovskites exhibit remarkable photophysical properties, making them promising for optoelectronic applications.
- The phase composition of Q-2D perovskites critically influences device performance, particularly in light-emitting diodes.
- Controlling phase composition and minimizing non-radiative recombination are key challenges in developing efficient perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs).
Purpose of the Study:
- To fabricate efficient green perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) by engineering phase compositions.
- To investigate the role of mix-interlayer ligands in optimizing the performance of Q-2D perovskites.
- To suppress non-radiative recombination pathways in PeLEDs for enhanced efficiency.
Main Methods:
- Employing a mixture of o-fluorophenylethylammonium bromide (o-F-PEABr) and 2-aminoethanol hydrobromide (EOABr) as dual interlayer ligands.
- Utilizing composition and interlayer engineering to rationally optimize phase compositions in Q-2D perovskites.
- Characterizing the photophysical properties and device performance of the fabricated PeLEDs.
Main Results:
- Achieved a peak photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 81.4% for green PeLEDs.
- Obtained a narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 19 nm, indicating high color purity.
- Realized a maximum current efficiency (CE) of 27.7 cd/A and a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 10.4%.
Conclusions:
- The introduction of mix-interlayer ligands effectively optimizes phase composition and suppresses non-radiative recombination in Q-2D perovskites.
- The developed strategy provides a feasible method for realizing high-efficiency green PeLEDs.
- This work contributes to the advancement of perovskite optoelectronics and efficient light-emitting device technologies.
