Is urethral pressure associated with parity and delivery mode?

Childbirth can affect urethral sphincter function, with the first vaginal birth having the most impact. Instrumental delivery did not show a significant effect on maximum urethral pressure in this study.

- Delivery mode was significantly associated with MUP on ANOVA testing.
- Regression analysis indicated only age was significantly associated with MUP (P < 0.001).
Conclusions:
- The initial vaginal birth appears to be the primary contributor to childbirth's effect on urethral sphincter function.
- Instrumental delivery did not demonstrate a significant effect on urethral sphincter function in this cohort.
