AnthraxKP: a knowledge graph-based, Anthrax Knowledge Portal mined from biomedical literature.

• Anthrax, a zoonotic disease caused by Bacillus anthracis, impacts global animal and human health.
• The growing volume of anthrax literature necessitates advanced methods for knowledge extraction and synthesis.
• Understanding anthrax etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and research is crucial and relies on comprehensive literature analysis.

Purpose of the Study:

• To develop a comprehensive knowledge graph and portal for anthrax research.
• To extract and organize entities and relationships from a large corpus of anthrax biomedical literature.
• To provide researchers with an efficient tool for accessing and utilizing anthrax-related knowledge.

Main Methods:

• Utilized text mining tools to identify ~14,000 entities across 29 categories from ~8,000 anthrax publications.
• Extracted 281 categories of association relationships among identified entities.
• Curated an Anthrax-related Entities Dictionary and Anthrax Ontology.
• Constructed the Anthrax Knowledge Graph (AnthraxKG) with over 6,000 nodes and 6,000 edges.
• Developed an interactive Anthrax Knowledge Portal (AnthraxKP) using Web technology based on AnthraxKG.
