[Relationship between bacteriocinogenic and non-bacteriocinogenic streptococcal cultures in experiments in vivo]

The data obtained pointed to a possible role of the phenomenon of bacteriocinogenia of streptococci, group A, in the formation of biocenoses in vivo, since in the present investigations it served as the principal and the leading factor determining the character and the result of interaction of the bacteriocinogenic and bacteriosensitive streptoccoci under conditions of combined infection of mice. Realization of the bacteriocinogenia phenomenon in vivo occurred as soon as the first hours of the infectious process development in the animals; for its manifestation definite quantitative correlations of bacteriocinogenic and bacteriocinosensitive strains were required.
