Inter-arm blood pressure difference as a tool for predicting coronary artery disease severity

Interarm blood pressure difference (IABPD) can predict coronary artery disease (CAD) severity. A higher IABPD indicates more severe coronary artery obstruction, suggesting its utility in assessing cardiovascular risk.

Monitoring Both Arms:
Monitoring BP in both arms during the initial assessment is advisable, as the systolic value may differ by five to ten mm Hg between arms. For subsequent BP assessments, use the arm with the higher reading.
