Abstract:
Based upon an analysis of long-term results of treatment of 99 patients after appendicular infiltrate and abscess the authors made a conclusion that young and middle-aged patients with this disease have indications for operation in the early period--within 2-3 weeks after resolution of the infiltrate. In elderly and senile patients, especially those with a pronounced concomitant pathology, planned operations should be refrained.
