A case of hepatitis B virus infection associated with exposure to inhalation anesthetics
1Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Blacksburg, Virginia 24061.
Abstract:
A 27 year-old veterinary student developed jaundice and malaise during a 3-week period in which he was exposed to volatile anesthetic agents. Serological examination indicated that this was the result of a hepatitis B viral infection, but it is possible that this was exacerbated by exposure to volatile anesthetics.
