Resonance Raman spectroscopy (RRS) noninvasively measures microvascular oxygen saturation (RRS-StO2), correlating well with central venous oxygen saturation (SCVO2). This method provides normative data for preterm infants and shows RRS-StO2 increases after blood transfusion.
