Localization of constitutive heat shock proteins in developing ascidians

Ascidian embryos constitutively synthesize heat shock proteins (HSP), particularly HSP 60 and 70, which localize to the myoplasm. These HSPs are likely mitochondrial and play a unique role in embryonic muscle cell development.
