Vaccination against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (COVID-19) appears to mitigate the increased postoperative mortality risk associated with COVID-19 infection. Vaccinated patients undergoing high-risk surgery showed no significant mortality difference, regardless of COVID-19 status or timing relative to surgery.
