Impaired interferon response in plasmacytoid dendritic cells from children with persistent wheeze

Young children with persistent wheezing show altered plasmacytoid dendritic cell (pDC) function, with reduced interferon production and increased IgE receptor expression. This impairment may hinder their ability to fight viral infections, contributing to recurrent wheeze and asthma development.
