Summary

Neutrophilic urticarial dermatosis (NUD) is a rare skin condition characterized by specific neutrophilic infiltrates. This poorly understood dermatosis presents as transient, nonpruritic lesions often linked to systemic diseases.

Background:

Neutrophilic urticarial dermatosis (NUD) is a rare and poorly understood dermatosis.
NUD was first described as an urticarial eruption with specific histopathological features.

Purpose of the Study:

To summarize the key characteristics of Neutrophilic urticarial dermatosis.
To highlight the clinical and histopathological findings of NUD.
To outline associated systemic conditions linked to NUD.

Main Methods:

Literature review of NUD cases.
Histopathological analysis of skin biopsies.
Clinical case study analysis.

Main Results:

NUD histopathology shows perivascular/interstitial neutrophilic infiltrate with leukocytoclasia, excluding vasculitis or edema.
Clinically, NUD presents as chronic or recurrent nonpruritic macules, papules, or plaques.
Lesions are pink to reddish, resolve within 24 hours, and lack residual pigmentation.

Conclusions:

NUD is a distinct neutrophilic dermatosis with characteristic clinical and histopathological findings.
The condition is often associated with systemic diseases, including Schnitzler syndrome and autoimmune disorders.
Further research is needed to fully elucidate the pathogenesis and optimal management of NUD.
