[Evaluation of combined radiotherapy of gastric carcinoma]
Abstract:
Combined radiotherapy with chemotherapy was performed on 82 patients with advanced gastric carcinoma (T2-T4: M0). A small target volume, including the primary lesion and regional lymph nodes (N1), was irradiated with the dose of 60 Gy. The survival rate was 21% at two years and 6% at five. The prognosis was better in cases of less advanced carcinoma, types I and II carcinoma and radioresponsive tumor. As the conclusion, it was suggested that this combination therapy could be curative in a few patients and be valuable to prolong the life of some others.
