Meningitis and encephalitis cases in Poland significantly increased in 2022 compared to 2021, with notable rises in bacterial and viral infections like tick-borne encephalitis virus. However, numbers remain below pre-pandemic levels.

- Despite the increase, case numbers for both bacterial and viral meningitis/encephalitis are still lower than pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels.
