Summary

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can cause severe multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS) in neonates. Transplacental transfer of maternal antibodies and cytokines may contribute to this severe infant immune response.
