Background:

Increasing use of technology-based, multimodal, non-pharmacological pain management in pediatric surgery.
Need to establish the effectiveness of these emerging interventions.

Purpose of the Study:

Evaluate the impact of technology-based interventions on pain experienced by pediatric surgery patients.
Synthesize evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Main Methods:

Systematic review and meta-analysis of RCTs.
Comprehensive literature search across major scientific databases.
Data extraction and risk of bias assessment by two independent researchers.

Main Results:

Meta-analysis of 14 RCTs demonstrated significant pain reduction in pediatric surgery patients using technology-based interventions.
High heterogeneity was noted among the included studies, indicated by Cochran's Q test.

Conclusions:

Technology-based interventions are a proven effective strategy for pain reduction in pediatric surgical patients.
Further research may be needed to address heterogeneity and optimize intervention protocols.
