Community Based Intervention01:30

Community Based Intervention

29
Community-based interventions in mental health represent a paradigm shift from institution-centered care to treatments embedded within the fabric of local communities. By prioritizing inclusion and leveraging existing societal structures, this approach fosters a supportive environment conducive to addressing mental health challenges while promoting individual dignity and agency.

Nursing Implementation01:15

Nursing Implementation

4.9K
Implementation is the execution of the nursing care plan developed during the planning phase.
The five steps to implementing effective nursing care include reassessing the patient, reviewing and revising the existing nursing care plan, organizing the resources and care delivery, anticipating and preventing complications, and implementing nursing interventions.

Healthcare Associated Infections II: Preventive Measures

2.4K
Essential infection prevention measures are based on the knowledge of the infection chain, the modes of transmission in healthcare settings, and the use of the best practices in all healthcare settings. Compulsory public reporting of healthcare-associated infection rates is needed to allow individuals and the community to make informed choices regarding selecting a healthcare facility.
The best practices for preventing healthcare-associated infections include hand hygiene, patient risk...

Levels of Health Promotion and Illness Prevention

12.0K
Health promotion allows a person to control the determinants of health, resulting in an improved health status. It enhances the quality of life and reduces premature deaths. Health promotion and illness prevention programs help people make beneficial choices to reduce the risk of disease and disabilities. There are three health promotion and illness prevention levels: primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.
In primary prevention, actions taken before disease onset prevent the disease from...

Self-Help Support Groups01:28

Self-Help Support Groups

25
Self-help support groups are voluntary, community-based organizations that provide a platform for individuals with shared concerns to exchange support, insights, and practical strategies for coping with life challenges. Typically led by group members or paraprofessionals, these groups form a cornerstone of mental health care, especially in reaching populations that are underserved by traditional healthcare systems.

Methods of Documentation VI: Case Management Model

559
The case management model is a multidisciplinary approach that involves healthcare professionals from diverse disciplines, such as physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, and pharmacists, working collaboratively to address the various needs of patients. Each healthcare professional brings unique expertise and perspectives, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of the patient's condition and tailoring treatment plans accordingly.
For example, a patient with a chronic...

Area of Science:

  • Implementation Science
  • Community-Engaged Research
  • Psychometrics

Background:

  • High-quality implementation of evidence-based interventions (EBIs) relies on effective technical assistance (TA).
  • Existing measures for the TA provider-coalition collaborative relationship are lacking.
  • Community-engaged approaches are vital for developing relevant and valid research tools.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop and evaluate a standardized measure of the collaborative working relationship between TA providers and coalitions.
  • To incorporate community and stakeholder input throughout the measure development process.
  • To assess the reliability and validity of the newly developed measure.

Main Methods:

  • A mixed-methods, community-engaged approach was employed.
  • Human-centered design, including interviews with TA providers and coalition leaders, informed measure development.
  • A heat-mapping technique identified key themes, followed by iterative survey item creation and refinement.
  • Reliability testing using Cronbach's Alphas and correlational analyses was conducted on a pilot sample.

Main Results:

  • Eleven themes related to high-quality TA provision were identified.
  • A multi-dimensional construct of the collaborative working relationship was empirically supported.
  • Seven constructs demonstrated reliable psychometric properties: competence/autonomy support, responsiveness, participation, co-creation, trust/rapport, compliance, and negative interactions.

Conclusions:

  • The developed measure provides a reliable tool for assessing TA provider-coalition collaborative relationships.
  • This research highlights the value of community-engaged methods in measurement development for implementation science.
  • Findings support the multi-dimensional nature of collaborative working relationships in TA contexts.
