Abstract:
Pseudomelanosis duodeni is a rare yet benign endoscopic entity characterized by black-brown pigmentation of the duodenal mucosa secondary to iron accumulation within lamina propria macrophages. Histopathological evaluation of duodenal biopsies is reliable in excluding important differential diagnoses and preventing unnecessary investigations or interventions.
