Sclerosing Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Parotid Gland in a Child- A Rare Case Report

Sclerosing Rhabdomyosarcoma (SRMS), is a rare, recently described variant of RMS, has predilection for the Extremities and the Head & Neck region. We herein report an unusual case of 9 year old male child who presented with a progressive swelling in the deep lobe of parotid & parapharyngeal space. The tumour was excised via transcervical transparotid approach. Histopathology was suggestive of sclerosing rhabdomyosarcoma.We report this case owing to the rarity of disease and histological similarity to other malignancies.
