This study presents a unique case of a patient with headaches, which were initially attributed to unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) but were later found to be associated with cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs). The authors highlight the importance of MRI in differentiating between UIAs and CCMs, as conventional cerebral angiography cannot reveal the pathological changes of CCMs. This case underscores the necessity of cranial MRI examination, particularly in patients with UIAs presenting with headaches, to minimize the risk of missed diagnoses of CCMs.
