Abstract:
Clinical nurses asked leaders to evaluate an advancement program for inclusion of clinical expertise as a primary component. Leaders and nurses collaborated to develop a clinical advancement program to improve engagement and retention of bedside nurses. The newly developed program provides objective criteria for clinical advancement through a point system. Implementation showed a significant increase in participation, positively impacting nursing retention.
