Smoking is highly addictive, and the leading cause of preventable death worldwide. In France, smoking prevalence remains high, making the fight against tobacco, including smoking cessation, a major public health issue. Nurses play a key role in helping patients to stop smoking. The aim of this article is to highlight the role and methods of intervention of nurses, who are the key players in this battle and in smoking cessation, whether in hospitals, private practice, the workplace or educational settings.
