Normal development of brain enolase isozymes in adrenalectomized rats
Brain Research
|November 25, 1985
Abstract:
The specific activity of cerebral and cerebellar enolase isozymes (non-neuronal enolase vs neuron-specific plus hybrid enolase) was measured on day 18, 25, and 66-67 in rats subjected to adrenalectomy or sham operation on day 11. No group differences were observed for either brain region at any time point. Thus, the postulated switchover of neurons from the non-neuronal to the neuron-specific form of this enzyme occurs independently of adrenal hormones.
