Empathy-mediating therapeutic objects offer an innovative humanistic perspective in geriatric care, particularly in the presence of neurocognitive disorders. This approach places empathy at the heart of the caregiver-patient relationship, and aims to facilitate empathetic attitudes in all those involved. It harmonizes with a personalized, person-centred strategy, while raising ethical and practical questions. This innovation invites us to rethink geriatric practices towards more humane care, while considering the challenges of its implementation.
