THE EFFICACY OF RANIBIZUMAB COMBINED WITH SUBSCLERAL TRABECULAR SURGERY IN THE TREATMENT OF NEOVASCULAR AGE-RELATED

Objective:
To investigate the clinical effect of subscleral trabecular surgery combined with intravitreal injection of ranibizumab in the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (NVG).
Methods:
132 patients (132 eyes) with NVG admitted to Jiaozhou Center Hospital of Qingdao from November 2018 to June 2021 were selected. All patients were diagnosed by laboratory examination. The patients were divided into operation group and combined group by clinical randomized prospective study, with 66 cases (66 eyes) in each group. The NVG patients in the operation group were treated with subscleral trabecular surgery, and the combined group was treated with intravitreal injection of ranibizumab on the basis of the operation group.
Results:
The BCAV and intraocular pressure of the two groups were evidently reduced, and the above laboratory indexes of the patients in the combined group were markedly reduced (P<0.05). The overall clinical efficacy of the two groups was better than that of the operation group (P<0.05). The surgical complication rate of the combined group was 9.09% compared with 16.67% of the surgical group (P>0.05).
Conclusion:
The clinical effect of subscleral trabecular surgery combined with intravitreal injection of ranibizumab in the treatment of NVG patients is positive, which can more effectively correct the visual acuity and intraocular pressure of patients.
