Abstract:
Over the past 20 years, there has been a shift in the clinical paradigm regarding intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms from an aggressive, pancreatectomy-favored approach to a more conservative, surveillance-favored approach. The long-term surveillance and management of these patients heavily rely on clinical judgement based on perceived pancreatic cancer risk, the patient's physiologic candidacy to undergo surgical resection, and patient preference.
