Summary

Thyroid dysfunction is linked to depression. Abnormal thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) responses to thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) were observed in depressed patients, suggesting a role for the hypothalamo-pituitary thyroid axis in depression.
