1Michael Williams is a bilingual (English, Spanish) APRN in Austin, TX, with a focus on internal medicine and HIV/preexposure prophylaxis. He has provided care to a culturally and socioeconomically diverse patient population for over seven years and has served as a clinical instructor at several institutions. Williams, who was raised in New York City and whose parents are from Panama, says that his upbringing "exposed him to many health care challenges and obstacles to care," and notes that being of Panamanian descent "allowed him to see the importance of understanding culture and its impact on delivering care"-experiences that led him to pursue a career in nursing.
