None:
A genital examination is considered as a central component of any preventive consultation. Nevertheless, its diagnostic efficacy in detecting gynecological pathologies remains suboptimal in asymptomatic patients. A survey of gynecologists in French-speaking Switzerland revealed that 96% of respondents do not perform genital examinations on asymptomatic young women during annual check-ups. Instead, they adopt a differentiated approach, depending on the patient's history and specific risk factors. Although 45% of gynecologists consider patient reassurance to be an indication for a genital examination, this can hinder care. Therefore, the challenge is to reconsider the gynecological consultation as a privileged opportunity for prevention and information on women's overall health, extending beyond the performance of a physical examination.
