Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten ingestion, and it affects approximately 1% to 2% of the population worldwide. Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), including machine and deep learning methodologies, offer encouraging solutions to these difficulties. AI algorithms can enhance early detection of celiac disease by analyzing serologic, genetic, histopathologic, and endoscopic imaging data, to identify patterns not directly detectable via visual inspection. In scientific research, AI has accelerated the discovery of new understanding concerning onset of celiac disease, highlighting potential risk factors and noting comorbidities with respect to other autoimmune disorders.
