Abstract:
Depression is a common mental health condition that affects 5 % of adults worldwide and significantly impairs quality of life. Although antidepressants are widely prescribed, current guidelines increasingly recommend integrating non-pharmacological approaches into treatment plans. This article reviews the potential efficacy of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, and physical activity in managing depressive symptoms. The scientific evidence highlights the strong efficacy of exercise and, to a lesser extent, omega-3 supplementation, whereas vitamin D supplementation has not been shown to provide significant benefits to the general population.
