Abstract:
Although attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is increasingly present in the media, this disorder remains underdiagnosed, particularly among adults, women, and transgender/non-binary individuals. General practitioners are confronted with subtle clinical signs that are difficult to detect in these populations. This article reviews the current state of knowledge on ADHD in adults, examines the specific clinical manifestations of this disorder especially according to gender, and highlights the various gender biases that can impact its detection and management.
