Abstract:
Lung cancer is a diagnosis that significantly impacts older adults, with improvements in clinical outcomes for all stages of disease seen over recent years. However, optimal strategies for screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship are not clear given the limited inclusion of older adults in cancer clinical trials, and limited data are focused on this population. Comprehensive geriatric assessment-based interventions, as well as shared decision-making with older adults considering lung cancer treatment, are critical to ensure appropriate treatment of each patient.
