The obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) workforce is more diverse than many other specialties in medicine; however, there is still scope for improvement. Racial concordance between providers and patients improves patient outcomes, satisfaction, and adherence. Pathway programs beginning in adolescence foster increased diversity in the clinician workforce. Programs that foster retention and develop health care professionals in OB/GYN into leaders and will improve diversity of thought and aid in patient care outcomes in the future.
