Robot-assisted surgery has profoundly reshaped urologic practice, becoming the gold standard for procedures such as radical prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy. The recent introduction of the single-port (SP) robot, using a single trocar through a single incision, has sparked growing interest. Beyond cosmetic advantages, studies have shown reduced postoperative pain and shorter hospital stays, with oncologic and functional outcomes comparable to those of conventional multiport robotic surgery. However, its high cost and steep learning curve limit its widespread adoption. To date, SP appears to be a promising alternative that may gain ground for selected indications.
