We propose a novel imaging method which integrates the imaging principle of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). After establishing the theoretical framework, we demonstrated the feasibility of imaging through numerical simulations that mimic double-photon emitting radionuclides. The results indicated that the stability of the imaging improves as a function of the Larmor precession induced by the applied gradient magnetic field on the radionuclides. It was demonstrated that spatial resolution comparable to PET and SPECT can be achieved. Optimizing the magnetic field distribution to utilize a greater number of pixels and achieve spatial resolution comparable to MRI is a key future prospect.
