In this work, we report on inducing redox charge storage of vanadium carbide MXene (V2CTx) via interfacial growth of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT). The reversible calciation capacity of V2CTx MXene is enhanced by three times with extended anodic stability after electrochemical polymerization of PEDOT. Synergistically, PEDOT coating suppresses the water activity while enabling the optimal flux of Ca2+ ions across V2CTx MXene interlayer spaces.
