Abstract:
Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is a very rare and aggressive odontogenic cyst predominantly occurring in the anterior mandibular region. This lesion shows high recurrence and resembles lateral periodontal cyst and mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the jaws; therefore, in-depth diagnosis and long-term follow-up are mandatory in these patients. We describe clinical and histopathologic findings of five cases of GOC diagnosed at our institution. Careful microscopic examination and long-term follow-up of the patient are mandatory, considering their unpredictable behavior and tendency for recurrence.
