Existing literature lacks a comprehensive synthesis of APP contributions in plastic surgery.
This review aims to characterize APP scope, impact, and distribution across plastic surgery subspecialties.

Conclusions:

APPs make significant contributions to plastic surgery care delivery.
Further research is essential to define APP roles in high-complexity care and education.
Long-term outcomes and provider well-being require additional investigation.
