1Hospital Dr. Franco Ravera Zunino. Rancagua, Chile.
Objectives:
to analyze the relationship between spirituality and humanized care among nursing professionals in a Chilean hospital.
Methods:
observational, analytical, and cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach carried out with 119 nursing professionals from a hospital. Data were collected between April and July 2024, through the application of the following questionnaires: bio-sociodemographic, Spirituality SQ, and Nyberg's Caring Assessment. The SPSS version 25.0 program was used for data analysis.
Results:
average levels of spirituality and humanized care were found, which reflects that nurses have interpersonal skills to provide holistic care; in addition, there is a significant statistical correlation (p≤0.05) between the constructs.
Conclusions:
spirituality determines humanized care through an intrinsic ethical value, as indicated by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring. Therefore, hospitals should consider these elements in the training and practice of nursing professionals to provide a more holistic care.
