In this work, the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) active small molecule fluorescent probe TPE-Ph-In for mitochondrial imaging in model plants, including tobacco and Arabidopsis thaliana, is reported. Additionally, we successfully captured the dynamic processes of mitochondrial fission and fusion through live cell super-resolution imaging using structured illumination microscopy (SIM).
