Abstract:
Urogynecology aims to improve care for women with pelvic floor disorders. The field has advanced rapidly, highlighting the need for patient-centered quality improvement. Landmark studies reveal gaps in care, driving the creation of quality measures to assess quality of care. Primary care settings have emerged as a key target, with initiatives like electronic consultation, advanced practice provider integration, and online toolkits to enhance clinical care. Initiatives on the specialist side include the incorporation of shared decision-making for patients, standardized surgical protocols, and postsurgical follow-up. These efforts build infrastructure to improve urogynecology at all health care levels.
