Electrochemical nitrite reduction is a potential way to achieve ammonia electrosynthesis, nitrite-containing sewage disposal, and energy supply simultaneously. Herein, a novel Cu-CoSe2 electrocatalyst was synthesized for nitrite reduction, which achieves an impressive NH3 yield of 4.79 mmol h-1 cm-2, and a high NH3 faradaic efficiency of 98.7% at -0.3 V vs. RHE in alkaline solution.
