Background And Objective:
This study investigated the impact of scan orientation on the detection of chorioretinal folds using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Patients And Methods:
A total of 64 eyes with chorioretinal folds were included. The ability to identify folds was compared between horizontal and vertical B-scan acquisitions. Two independent observers evaluated the SD-OCT scans to determine the visibility of folds.
Results:
Vertical scan orientation revealed folds in 63 of 64 cases (98.4%), whereas horizontal scans identified folds in only 26 cases (40.6%).
Conclusion:
Our findings show that chorioretinal folds were more consistently and clearly identified in vertically oriented scans than in horizontal scans, suggesting that scan direction significantly influences the detection and evaluation of these lesions.
