Abstract:
We investigate the combined effects of key parameters-including up to fourth-order nonlinear dispersion, excitation desynchronization, and chirped pulse characteristics (duration and peak intensity)-on Kerr soliton dynamics governed by the generalized Lugiato-Lefever equation. Numerical and analytical results show that initial conditions critically determine the trapping position and stability of the solitons. A silicon nitride microresonator is used to model deterministic single-soliton formation as well as the generation regime of breathing solitons within the telecom K-band. The results reveal that the growth rate of the -3 dB bandwidth of the Kerr frequency comb exhibits an approximately linear dependence on the spectral width of the chirped pump pulses and is strongly influenced by the pump peak power. These findings emphasize the necessity of jointly considering multiple parameters to achieve accurate prediction and robust control of soliton behavior in nonlinear optical systems.
