Systemic Immunosuppressant Cessation/Tapering Linked to MGD Progression Post-HSCT.

Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) may not improve even when chronic ocular graft-versus-host disease (coGVHD) severity lessens after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Stopping or reducing immunosuppressants is linked to worsening MGD.

- Improvement in coGVHD does not guarantee improvement in MGD after allo-HSCT.
- Systemic immunosuppressant reduction is a risk factor for MGD progression post-transplant.
