Abstract:
This study, utilizing data from NHANES 2017-2018, explores the association of mercury exposure with allostatic load and cardiovascular disease risk among a representative sample of the United States noninstitutionalized civilian population, involving 9,254 participants. The investigation provided critical insights including statistically significant relationships between mercury levels and diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in linear regression, and triglycerides in logistic regression. Findings highlight the potential influence of environmental factors on cardiovascular health and the importance of integrating such factors into cardiovascular disease prevention and management strategies.
