High-performance 54-channel C-band AWGR for optical computing applications

Abstract:
We demonstrate a high-uniformity 54-channel 100 GHz AWGR on a 0.75% silica platform, achieving insertion losses below 1.53 dB and non-uniformity under 0.2 dB via an improved Rowland circle design. Applied to an optical computing system for electrocardiogram (ECG) signal classification, the device enabled a classification accuracy of 97.3% with approximately 4-bit computational precision and a 99.85% correlation to digital benchmarks, verifying its potential for high-performance optical computing.
