Evaluation of Patient Comfort and Quality of Life Using Implant-Supported Overdentures: A Qualitative Study

Purpose:
This study aims to evaluate patient comfort and quality of life improvements in individuals using implant-supported overdentures, focusing on their subjective experiences.
Methods:
A qualitative study design was employed, involving semi-structured interviews with 20 patients using implant-supported overdentures. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to explore the impact on comfort, oral function, and psychological well-being.
Results:
Findings revealed significant improvements in mastication, speech, and overall satisfaction. Two major themes emerged: enhanced oral functionality and elevated self-esteem. However, some participants reported adaptation challenges during the initial weeks.
Conclusion:
Implant-supported overdentures significantly enhance patient comfort and quality of life, addressing both functional and psychosocial aspects. Further studies are needed to generalize these findings to larger populations.
